Tencent Reaches Deal with Olympic Council of Asia and Asian Electronic Sports Federation
On Thursday, Tencent reached a strategic partnership with the Olympic Council of Asia and the Asian Electronic Sports Federation to jointly promote the development of e-sports.
Ma Xiaoyi, Senior Vice President of Tencent Group, said that Tencent would further support the promotion of live action and e-sports in Asia by way of the OCA. In addition, in the upcoming Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, Tencent will support the preparation and promotion of e-sports events and contribute to the development of e-sports in Asia and the world as a whole.
Both organizations will work together in cultural exchanges, technical personnel training, support in Asian competitions, digital sports research and other aspects, so as to jointly promote the development of Asian sports, encourage Asian youth to participate in sports activities, and to promote the standardized development of the e-sports industry in Asia.
In addition, Steve Kim, Chief Operating Officer of the Asian Electric Sports Federation, gave details about the RDAG Tournament, an official e-sports event in Asia jointly launched by the OCA and AESF. He also announced an in-depth connection with the Hangzhou Asian Games e-sports project.
The first RDAG Tournament was officially launched in 2022. Teams from 45 countries and regions in 5 major regions in Asia will participate in the same electric competition events as the official competition of the Asian Games.

In order to help the RDAG Tournament develop, AESF has reached an agreement with Tencent E-sports. Tencent E-sports is expected to provide support the organization with technology and expertise while working with the AESF to build an e-sports system with Asian characteristics in the long run.
