Tencent’s WeChat Pay Cooperates with Unionpay QuickPass and 10 Banks

Recently, Tencent’s WeChat Pay has made new progress in promoting payment interconnection. 11 institutions’ apps including Unionpay QuickPass, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of China and Bank of Communications have all been promoting cooperation with the payment platform.

As early as September this year, users could scan WeChat payment codes through the Mobile QuickPass App in provincial capitals across the country to complete their payment.

The Mobile QuickPass App fully supports the top-up services of Q Coins, QQ Music and Tencent Video. WeChat Mini Programs will gradually integrate the Mobile QuickPass payment method. QuickPass payment now supports a select number of Tencent services, such as its reading and video streaming apps, as well as WeChat mini-programs for JD.com, Luckin Coffee and Nayuki’s Tea.

At present, the pace of interconnection in the payment field is accelerating. Pinduoduo and Meituan have been connected to more payment channels, including WeChat Pay, Alipay, Unionpay Quick Pass, Apple Pay and so on.
