Tesla Model S and Model X Begins Delivery in Chinese Market
On March 28th, it was announced that Tesla officially released the prices for the new Model S and Model X in China, and began deliveries to the Chinese market.
The new car interior adopts a brand-new design language, and the uniquely shaped Yoke steering wheel is highly recognizable. The full LCD instrument panel, plus 17-inch horizontal central control screen stretches the horizontal visual effect of the car’s interior, while also increasing the space capacity. The air conditioning vents in the car are also designed to be hidden, which can intelligently adjust airflow circulation mode and come with standard three-zone temperature control and front seat ventilation. The car is equipped with a high-end audio system with 22 speakers and a power output of up to 960 watts, which can achieve an effect similar to that of a live music performance.
The Yoke steering wheel and standard steering wheel of Tesla Model S and Model X are available for free selection by users. Among them, the appearance details of Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid have been smoked black, and the door handles and wheel hubs have been replaced with black decorations.
In terms of power, Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid are equipped with a three-motor power system with an output power of up to 1020 horsepower.
Specifically, the Model S has a CLTC range of 715 kilometers, a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive Model S is priced at ¥789,900 (about $114,700 USD), while the tri-motor all-wheel-drive Model S Plaid version costs ¥1,009,900 (about $146,600 USD).

According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first two months before 2023, sales of new energy passenger vehicles had reached 933,000 units with a market share of 25.7% and penetration rate of 26.6%. This means that for every four new cars sold in the past two months, one was a new energy vehicle. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers stated that, led by top brands such as Tesla, the overall sales volume of new energy vehicles in China is expected to exceed eight million units with a penetration rate exceeding 40% by 2023.
