The Auto China 2022 to Be Postponed
Staff involved with the organization of the Auto China 2022 have told local media outlet Economic View that the event, which was originally scheduled to begin on April 21, will be postponed.
According to the latest news from the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, on March 21, China reported 2338 more confirmed cases. Among them, 2281 were locally transmitted.
The staff said, “Due to the epidemic, many companies may not be able to attend the exhibition on time, so the show may have to be postponed until June, though was originally scheduled for the end of April. An announcement will be made to the public through the event’s official website and WeChat accounts.” The Auto China 2022 is held every two years with the last exhibition also having been postponed due to the epidemic. This auto show will now have been postponed for two consecutive sessions.
As the first A-class motor show at the beginning of each year, the Auto China 2022 has promoted and spurred interest in the domestic market while creating a unique retail environment. As a result, the exhibition is also the best stage car companies have to lay out new strategies and to present their newest models. It has already been confirmed that the Li Auto‘s L9, BYD Seal and other models will be displayed at the exhibition.

However, the sudden postponement will no doubt disrupt the promotional efforts distribution plans set by many car companies. Therefore, a relatively flexible and free online release may become an alternative for these companies while many models planning to be listed or launched at the exhibition may also be released online instead.
