Three EV Models of Geely-Backed Ruilan Auto Leaked Ahead of 2023 Unveiling
Three electric vehicle (EV) models that support battery swap services made by Ruilan Auto have been leaked under codenames “SD3A-1,” “SD3A-2” and “SD3A-3,” all of which feature a larger overall size than the NIO ET5, which is also a power swap model.
Geely Automobile announced last month that a joint venture company it established with Lifan Technology has officially completed industrial and commercial registration procedures and has settled in the Liangjiang New Area in the city of Chongqing. The joint venture is called Ruilan Auto.
The new models adopt a rear-mounted and rear-drive design, support speed acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds, and offer a WLTP combined range of 500 kilometers, which is sufficient for daily use.
The new cars will be produced in Geely’s new factory in Jinan, Shandong Province, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles. It is estimated that the total sales volume will be about 300,000 vehicles from 2024 to 2029. This series of models adopts a brand-new power swap technology, which can finish the process in 60 seconds.
