Xiaomi Auto is accelerating its EV expansion with three new models that target the family, performance, and premium executive markets simultaneously.
On December 9, 2025, reports indicated that Xiaomi Auto is advancing development and testing of three new vehicle models simultaneously, strategically covering key market segments and further strengthening its product lineup.

The first model, a large SUV internally codenamed “YU9”, is positioned as Xiaomi’s flagship entry into the family-car market. Expected to measure over 5.2 meters in length and offered in six- or seven-seat configurations, the vehicle will feature an extended-range EV system designed to deliver both pure-electric driving and long-distance capability without range anxiety. Its main competitors include the Li Auto L9 and the Aito M9. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun previously led extreme cold and high-altitude tests in the Pamir Plateau in Xinjiang, signaling the model has entered a critical pre-production validation phase.

The second model, the high-performance SUV “YU7 GT”, developed on the YU7 platform, has been spotted frequently testing at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife. Engineered for peak driving performance, the team is intensively refining chassis tuning, electric-drive limits, and thermal management. The YU7 GT is expected to serve as a spearhead for Xiaomi’s expansion into Europe, positioned against the Tesla Model Y Performance.

In the sedan category, Xiaomi is developing the SU7 L, an extended executive version of the SU7. Spy shots show a visibly lengthened area behind the B-pillar, and the model is projected to surpass 5.2 meters in length with a wheelbase of over 3.1 meters. Its positioning mirrors that between the Porsche Panamera and Panamera Executive, aimed squarely at the premium executive sedan segment.
