TikTok Cooperates With AR Creation Tool Camera IQ

Augmented reality filter management platform Camera IQ announced Thursday that it will cooperate with TikTok to launch support for AR functions within the popular video app’s “Effect House.”

Effect House is an AR development platform recently launched by TikTok, which allows creators to build effects for use within the app. It features detailed instructions teaching users how to create specific types of effects. When creators’ effects built with Effect House are displayed on TikTok, the effects’ results page will feature the creator’s username and a link to their profile.

Camera IQ is an easy AR content creation platform, allowing brands to develop advertisements through preset templates and 3D tools, then publish them on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok. It has partnered with companies including Smashbox and Cartoon Network.

The cooperation between TikTok and Camera IQ includes the application of the AR filters developed by Camera IQ in Effect House, and the transformation of previous AR filters into TikTok effects to speed up the brands’ release process of AR filters on the short video sharing platform.

“Brands can partner with Camera IQ to build a cross-platform AR strategy by transforming previous AR campaigns into TikTok effects or by building new effects,” the company said in a statement. “Camera IQ offers hands-on support from its team of experienced account strategists, while delivering real-time analytics and exclusive insights on the performance and virality of a brand’s AR effects.”

Camera IQ has reached cooperation with social platforms such as Snap, Facebook, TikTok, and Zoom. Camera IQ, based on internal research, says such marketing campaigns are becoming increasingly popular. The second quarter saw a 43% increase in the sharing of AR effects on Instagram and a 23% increase in sharing on Facebook. Snap Camera usage has increased 33-fold since the resurgence of the pandemic in China earlier this year.
