Tmall Platform Announces IKEA Debut
Tmall, Alibaba’s flagship B2C marketplace, announced the arrival of IKEA’s flagship store on the platform. This collaboration marks the Swedish furniture titan’s first appearance on a third-party platform, with 3,600 IKEA products available.

IKEA Retail China and Tmall cemented on their partnership via an online signing ceremony held concurrently in Shanghai and Hangzhou on the morning of March 10. IKEA’s selection of Tmall to launch their products in China bolsters the platform’s legitimacy as a leading entrance to the world’s second largest economy.
Jiang Fan, president of Tmall and Taobao at Alibaba Group, commented, “IKEA is the world’s leading home furnishing retailer and loved by many Chinese consumers. It is truly exciting for us to help IKEA explore online channels and to enable more Chinese consumers to purchase IKEA products with greater convenience.”

The partnership between Alibaba’s Tmall and IKEA illustrates the robust position of digital sales channels among China’s growing consumer class.
