Top Android Phones with Snapdragon 855 Plus
American telecom giant Qualcomm announced its new Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform back in July, claiming that it was “built for gaming.” ROG Phone, a gaming phone brand of ASUS, became the first android phone to feature the powerful Snapdragon 855+ chipset in its ROG Phone 2. Other smartphone manufacturers have since followed suite and equipped their flagship phones with the Snapdragon 855+ chipset.

ASUS ROG Phone 2
ASUS ROG Phone 2 is the first smartphone equipped with the Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The gaming smartphone has the most powerful chipset, a 48MP camera sensor, two USB-C ports, a huge 6,000 mAh battery, 12GB of LPDDR4X memory, 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage, and an incredible 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. Besides, ASUS offers a lot of accessories like docks, cases, or gamepad.
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro
In July, Xiaomi also announced the Black Shark 2 Pro, another gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 855+. Its hardware configuration is quite similar to the Black Shark 2, except some improvements like the higher-speed UFS 3.0 storage, 12GB RAM, and reduced touch response time. Other specs are pretty much the same. It still has a Full HD+ AMOLED panel, a 4,000mAh battery, 128/256GB of storage, and pressure-sensitive panels simulating physical buttons.
Nubia Z20
Nubia Z20 was released in August and features a dual-screen design: a 6.42-inch touchscreen primary display and a 5.10-inch touchscreen secondary display. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, 6GB/8GB of RAM, 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage, 4,000 mAh battery, and 27W fast charging.
Meizu 16s Pro
Meizu 16s Pro is an upgraded smartphone from its predecessor Meizu 16s and shares similar specs. Both feature a 6.2-inch display, 6GB/8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 3,600 mAh battery. Compared with Meizu 16s, the new flagship phone has a more powerful Snapdragon 855+ chipset, higher touching sampling rate and better rear triple-camera.
Vivo NEX 3 5G/ Vivo NEX 3
Vivo unveiled its new flagship phones vivo NEX 3 & vivo NEX 3 5G on September 16. The two versions come with same specs: a 6.89-inch super AMOLED display, curved “WaterFall Fullview Display” with virtual buttons called Touch Sense, Snapdragon 855+, 4500mAh battery with Super FlashCharge 44W charge support. The NEX 3 also features a 64MP rear triple camera setup encased in a circular module on the back of the device, and a 16MP pop-up selfie camera.
Vivo iQOO Pro 5G / vivo iQOO Pro
Vivo’s iQOO smartphone got a Pro version upgrade in August. The new android phone brings Snapdragon 855+ to the tables and is available in two variants: Vivo iQOO Pro 4G edition and iQOO Pro 5G model. The 6.41-inch handset has a 4500mAh battery, which supports 44W Super FlashCharge, and a rear triple-camera setup, including a 48MP primary sensor coupled with a 12MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera completes the setup with a 12 MP sensor.
