Vivo and Tesla Complete Adaptation of Digital Car Keys
Chinese smartphone giant vivo announced on Monday that it has completed the digital adaptation of sensorless car keys with Tesla, and its functions will cover all models supporting Jovi InCar, including the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.
Specifically, the sensorless unlocking function supports vivo X, S, iQOO flagship series, iQOO Neo series, iQOO Z series, and NEX series models. However, it should be noted that the Tesla app must be upgraded to version 4.7.3-1028, and the Android version must be 11.0 or higher before users can enjoy the feature.
Vivo launched the Jovi InCar vehicle networking service platform in 2020. Jovi settings are pre-installed in OriginOS, covering more than 500 models including BBA, Lexus and other brands in the first batch, enabling consumers to use vivo smartphones as car keys through NFC.
In order to explore deeper scenarios for car-phone interconnection, vivo has also launched more diversified intelligent car functions with new leading brands such as XPeng Motors, Zeekr and IM Motors. At present, the sensorless car key function has covered Tesla (Model 3, Model Y), XPeng Motors (all models), Zeekr, IM Motors (L7 Models) and other new leading automotive firms.
In fact, many Chinese smartphone firms have begun to adapt digital car keys in conjunction with automakers. Last month, OPPO reached a digital car key cooperation with Tesla and XPeng Motors. At a launch conference for the Honor Magic4 series, Honor also announced that it had reached a strategic cooperation with Li Auto to use its Magic4 series smartphones to unlock Li Auto vehicles.
