GUANGZHOU, November 21, 2025 – XPeng Motors today celebrated the production of its 1 millionth vehicle and officially launched the XPeng X9 Super Range-Extender at the 2025 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition. The model set a new brand order record, with 79% of buyers opting for the top-tier 1602 Ultra version.
He Xiaopeng, XPeng’s Chairman and CEO, announced the dual achievements during the company’s “AI Changing the World”-themed press conference. He highlighted that it took XPeng just 14 months to ramp up from 500,000 to 1 million vehicles, making it the first Chinese EV startup to reach this production milestone.
The X9 Super Range-Extender, the first model under XPeng’s Kunpeng Super Range-Extender architecture, delivers a CLTC-combined range of 1,602 km, including 452 km of all-electric range. Orders from northern China accounted for over 50% of total bookings — a first for XPeng — reflecting strong demand for dual-energy vehicles in colder climates.
Alongside the X9, XPeng showcased its latest AI and robotics advances, including the new-generation IRON humanoid robot and the company’s self-developed Turing AI chip. He confirmed that four key AI applications — second-generation VLA, Robotaxi, IRON, and flying cars — will enter mass production in 2026.
XPeng also outlined an ambitious global expansion plan. The P7+ model will go on sale overseas in January 2026, followed by three additional international models within the year. To support this growth, XPeng aims to build over 1,000 ultra-fast charging stations outside China within three years.
With the X9 spearheading its new “one vehicle, dual energy” strategy, XPeng is transitioning from a pure EV maker to a brand offering both pure electric and super range-extender solutions, positioning itself for the next phase of global intelligent mobility.
