XPeng launches the X9 Super Range Extender with a class-leading 1,602 km range and $43,400 starting price, aiming to redefine global family travel.

Guangzhou, November 20, 2025 — XPeng today officially launched the X9 Super Range Extender, billed as the world’s longest-range full-size seven-seater MPV. The new model comes in two trims—Max and Ultra—priced at 309,800 RMB (43,400 USD) and 329,800 RMB(46,200 USD) respectively.

To mark the launch, XPeng unveiled a package of incentives valid through December 31, 2025. Early buyers can access up to 60,000 RMB(8,400USD) in combined benefits, including a lifetime warranty for the range extender and electric drive system (10,000 RMB(1,400 USD) value), free upgrades such as the cabin enhancement pack and 20-inch wheels (20,000 RMB(2,800 USD) value), and either a zero-down-payment financial plan or XPeng Mall points (up to 30,000 RMB (4,200 USD) in value). Existing XPeng owners can also enjoy up to 23,500 RMB (3,290 USD) in loyalty rewards. 1280X1280.PNG Positioned as the long-range benchmark in its class, the XPeng X9 Super Range Extender delivers an impressive 1,602 km CLTC combined range and 452 km pure-electric range, redefining family travel for global users. Developed under global standards and tested across 20 countries and 330 cities over 800 days, the X9 aims to be a safe, comfortable, all-scenario travel companion for large families. 1280X1280.JPEG

1,602 km Range + 800V/5C Ultra-Charging Sets a New Industry Benchmark

Unlike traditional range-extender setups that rely on a small battery and large fuel tank, XPeng's “big tank + big battery” architecture allows the X9 to achieve class-leading efficiency — 16.5 kWh/100 km, the lowest in any seven-seat vehicle globally. With a 63.3 kWh ultra-fast-charging LFP battery, the X9 supports 5C + 800V ultra-charging, enabling 313 km of added range in just 10 minutes. The model also supports 92-octane fuel, ensuring worry-free travel even in remote regions such as Tibet and Qinghai. Compared with equivalent fuel MPVs, the X9 can save families roughly 43,000 RMB (6,020 USD) per year in energy costs.

Comprehensive Safety From Battery to Body Structure

The LFP battery pack meets China’s 2026 new national safety standards ahead of schedule, ensuring zero fire or explosion even after 24 hours of thermal runaway. Its 4-3-4 protection framework withstands 2,000 J underbody impacts and even continuous gunfire. 1280X1280 (1).JPEG The X9 is engineered to meet both 2024 C-NCAP and 2026 EU NCAP five-star safety standards globally, featuring ultra-high-strength A-pillar reinforcement, expanded crumple zones, and nine standard airbags — including a dedicated airbag for the zero-gravity seat. On the active-safety side, the model delivers industry-leading stability even in extreme cases such as high-speed blowouts, heavy rain, and icy roads. Its advanced AEB/AES system supports automatic braking or evasive maneuvers at up to 130 km/h.

Luxury-Level Quietness with Dual Active Noise Cancellation (ENC + RNC)

XPeng’s NVH engineering ensures that the vehicle remains whisper-quiet even when the range extender activates. With dual noise-cancellation systems and a redesigned low-vibration powertrain, the X9 achieves cabin quietness rivaling or surpassing million-yuan luxury MPVs.

Industry-First Electric Triple-Fold Third Row for Maximum Flexibility

The X9 features an industry-first triple-folding electric third row, allowing fully flat storage and flexible 4/5/6/7-seat configurations. Even the third row can recline flat to 180 degrees, offering generous headroom and legroom. Thanks to XPeng’s unique 9-in-1 integrated rear module, the vehicle achieves a 95.8% rear-space utilization rate — an engineering feat in packaging.

Top-Tier Comfort and Luxury-Class Chassis Hardware

The cabin features Ayous real wood trim, a 27-speaker surround audio system, a full-length ambient-light setup, and the industry’s first natural-light aviation reading lamps. All models come standard with 12-way power seats, zero-gravity captain seats, and heated cushions for all three seats in the third row. Under the chassis, the X9 employs a full-aluminum suspension setup with dual-chamber air springs and XPeng’s proprietary 6D anti-motion sickness algorithm for ultra-smooth ride quality.
