Xiaomi 12 Smartphone Series Tipped to Still Have 12T Model
Xiaomi released its 12S smartphone series on July 4. On July 5, developer Kacper Skrzypek broke the news on Twitter that there is still a Xiaomi 12T in the 12 series, which is codenamed “Plato” and will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra chipset.
The Xiaomi 12T will be the first model in the 12 series to adopt the Dimensity 8100 processor. At present, the Redmi K50, Redmi Note 11T Pro realme GT Neo 3 and other models all adopt the Dimensity 8100, and their prices are generally between two and three thousand yuan ($299 – $448).
The Dimensity 8100 was released on March 1 this year. It adopts TSMC’s 4nm process technology, and has four Cortex-A78 cores with a main frequency of 2.85 GHz and four Cortex-A55 with a main frequency of 2.0 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G610 with the third-generation Valhall GPU architecture.
At last night’s Xiaomi 12S series launch event, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition was also launched, with a price of 3,999 yuan ($597), which is positioned higher than the Xiaomi 12T. The 12 Pro Dimensity Edition has only blue and black colors, without Leica co-branding. It has a battery capacity of 5160mAh and 67W fast charging support. Equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX707 main camera, the ultrawide and telephoto shooters have been downgraded to 13MP and 5MP sensors, respectively. The front camera is still 32 megapixels, and the screen continues with the 6.73 inches E5 AMOLED.
