Xiaomi 12 Ultra Smartphone: More Imaging Details Exposed
Chinese technology industry blogger with Weibo username “@Digital Chat Station” posted on Tuesday that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone will be released in July. The new device is positioned as an imaging flagship product. A collaboration with Leica will bring new breakthroughs in terms of photography. In addition, in the rear tri-camera, the main camera features the new IMX 989 sensor with 50 megapixels, and the front camera has 32 megapixels, offering super-high resolution.
In terms of imaging details, the blogger said that the telephoto-macro two-in-one liquid state camera lens appearing from Xiaomi last year was being upgraded, and the next flagship phone will come with a liquid state camera that integrates an ultra-wide angle and macro features. This liquid lens is located in the middle of the rear lens module of the phone, and is larger.
Based on existing information, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra adopts an OLED flexible curved screen, and, as expected, uses Pengpai P1 and Pengpai C2 chips for better charging and image performance. Equipped with a 4860 mAh battery, it supports 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

The tipster also that smartphone brands planned to release new upgraded products in the second half of the year. Specifically Xiaomi will release new smartphones including the L1, L2S, L2M, L3S and L18. They will all reportedly be equipped with a Qualcomm 8+ or a MediaTek 9000 flagship processor.
The post added that the L1 might be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and the L2S is likely to be the upgraded version of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ flagship processor. Moreover, the L2M is the Dimensity version of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, equipped with a Dimensity 9000 flagship processor. L3S might be an upgraded version of the Xiaomi 12, equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ flagship processor. Finally, the L18 may be the Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2, a folding-screen flagship to be released this year.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro might be released in July together with the Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone.
