Xiaomi Announces New Round of Organizational Restructuring
Sina Tech reported on Friday that Xiaomi announced a new round of organizational restructuring, involving the group’s executives, smartphone department, China region and Internet business department. The reorganization is aimed to improve the company’s management capabilities.
In terms of executives, Zhang Feng, a partner and Senior Vice President of Xiaomi, will no longer serve as the Chief of Staff of the group. His businesses, such as household appliances, televisions and notebooks, have developed rapidly. Pan Jiutang will replace him as the Chief of Staff of the group.
Yan Kesheng, Vice President of Xiaomi and General Manager of the Intelligent Manufacturing Department, will no longer serve as Chairman of the group’s Quality Committee. With the promotion of the group’s intelligent manufacturing strategy and the acceleration of the second phase of the intelligent factory, Yan will devote himself to the intelligent manufacturing work. Li Tao, Vice Chairman of the Quality Committee will be the new Chairman. Li has experience in product quality management, which is conducive to the continuity of the committee’s work.
The adjustment will better enable the two executives to focus on the direction of the home appliance business and intelligent manufacturing processes.
In order to promote the collaboration between hardware and software of smartphones, the Software and Experience Department and the System Software Department were merged into the Software Department while the IoT Platform Department was also merged into the Software Department.
Xiaomi‘s current structure shows that the executive rotation system within Xiaomi has became mature. Among them, Liu Yi was appointed as Vice President of China Region and General Manager of the E-commerce Department. Wang Xiaoyan, Vice President of China Region, was appointed as General Manager of Sales and Operation Department I, II, and III. Li Mingjin was appointed as Deputy General Manager of Internet Business Department.

The organizational restructuring has further strengthened the promotion of young executives, appointing Liu Li as the deputy General Manager of the Sales and Operation Department III and Li Gefei as the deputy general manager of Sales and Operation Department II.
