Chinese consumer electronics giant Xiaomi previously announced that it will release a new smartphone, the Civi 1S, on Thursday. Ahead of the launch, the company indicated on Wednesday that the device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset, claiming that “five major accelerated technologies will improve the operation of the model by 27%.”
The Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset adopts TSMC’s 6nm process. It has 4×2.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A78 and 4×1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A55. The performance of the chipset is reportedly 40% higher than the 768G version. There is also an Adreno 642L GPU, which improves graphics performance by 20%.
In terms of software, Xiaomi started its “MIUI Smart Cleaning Master,” claiming that the reading and writing performance attenuation after 36 months was less than 1%. It passed the anti-aging certification in 36 months of China Telecommunication Technology Labs.
In addition, the Xiaomi Civi 1S has added 4D light-tracing beauty technology, which adopts high-precision face modeling and gaming-grade real-time rendering to create six kinds of three-dimensional makeup.
Xiaomi revealed that the appearance of the Xiaomi Civi 1S is consistent with that of Xiaomi Civi released last year, but the “sunshine” related colorway will be added, and the gradient flash diamond texture will be realized through special technology. The new model will also feature 67W fast charging, upgraded from Xiaomi Civi’s 55W wired fast charging.
The new smartphone is expected to be equipped with an OLED display with 1080P+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Its camera set includes a 32 MP selfie camera and a 64 MP main camera in the rear. Installed with the MIUI 13 operating system, the smartphone may be priced at about 3,000 yuan ($468).
