Xiaomi Expands IoT Repertoire With Smart Refrigerators Launch
Chinese smart electronics maker Xiaomi launched four refrigerators today in various sizes, storage volumes and prices to accommodate China’s massive consumer base and further expand its smart device portfolio.
Xiaomi said in a statement that it views large home appliances as an important element of its AIoT strategy. By focusing on innovation and product design, the company aims to offer intelligent user experiences and promote the enhanced connectivity and compatibility of smart home appliances.
All four Mi Refrigerators are made with titanium and feature a compact, minimalist design. According to Xiaomi, the fridges feature an air-cooling technology that keeps food frost-free and a different air circulation system ensures an even temperature across the cabin, allowing items to have a longer shelf life.
The refrigerators come with support for Xiaomi’s own smart AI assistant, XiaoAi, and can be operated remotely through the company’s Mi Home App. Using either Xiaomi’s smartphone or smart speaker, users can adjust the temperature and cooling modes through voice control, and also monitor the real-time temperature of the cabin through the app.
