Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth to be Launched in Chengdu
Xiaomi has officially announced that a lower-end version of Xiaomi Mi 8, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth will be launched in Chengdu, the capital city of China’s Sichuan Province, on Sept. 19.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth is equipped with the Snapdragon 710 processor and a 6.26-inch LCD notch screen, with a battery capacity of 3250mAh. It has a 24MP front camera and a 12MP rear dual-lens camera. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website, the cameras are positioned horizontally and the phone will have a glass back.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth is similar to Xiaomi 8SE in terms of configurations except that the former has more storage options. There are three storage combinations of 4+64GB, 6+64GB and 6+128GB.

Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also comes in 13 different colors as explained on the MIIT website. The blue to purple gradient version resembles the OPPO R17. The famous singer and brand ambassador of Xiaomi, Kris Wu, was spotted holding a gradient color phone at the airport, which is believed to be the new Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth.
The phone will be priced at 1999 RMB (about $290), making it a budget-friendly option to Xiaomi Mi 8.
