Xiaomi Obtains Qualification to Independently Manufacture Cars

On July 12th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products” (Batch 385). Xiaomi Automobile Technology Company appeared in the list of new vehicle manufacturers to be approved for production, with a note stating “Newly established battery electric passenger car manufacturer”, indicating that Xiaomi officially has independent qualifications for car manufacturing.

According to reports, in the list of new product announcements, there are four models of battery electric cars from Xiaomi, with the company name displayed as Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd.

Clicking on the details of the declared vehicle model, it can be found that the tail label of Xiaomi SU7 has been changed from “Beijing Xiaomi” to “Xiaomi“.

According to reports, last year the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the “Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products” (Batch 377), with two models of Xiaomi brand cars officially unveiled. At that time, the company was named BAIC Group Off-road Vehicle Co.,Ltd., with the logo as Beijing Xiaomi.
