Xiaomi President Published the First Post Over a 5G Network
On Nov. 22, Xiaomi president Lin Bin posted an image of the upcoming Mi MIX 3 on a Chinese social media platform, writing “This is probably the first Weibo post sent through a 5G network”.
The smartphone manufacturer announced it will be launching its next-generation Mi MIX smartphone – Mi MIX 3 in the first quarter of 2019, along with a 5G version.
The model used this time is an engineering model that is equipped with AOSP system instead of the more common MIUI interface. Based on the network signals at the upper right corner of the phone, it’s connecting to a 5G network.
Lin’s post seems to suggest that Mi MIX 3’s development has completed and is currently being tested.
The 5G version of the Mi MIX 3 is expected to have the same specifications as the original model, featuring a 6.39-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display and a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio.
