Xiaomi is expanding the rollout of HyperOS 3 to more models starting today. The updated global ROM has been overhauled at the system core, bringing its performance and smoothness almost fully in line with the China ROM.

December 10 — IT Home reports that Xiaomi is expanding the rollout of the HyperOS 3 stable version, with phased (“gray-scale”) distribution starting today and continuing in batches.

The following models will receive the official HyperOS 3 stable update:

  • Xiaomi MIX Fold 3
  • Xiaomi 13 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 13 Pro
  • Xiaomi 13
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro+
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro
  • Redmi Note 14 Pro+
  • Redmi Note 14 Pro
  • Redmi Note 13 Pro+
  • Redmi Note 13 Pro

According to Xiaomi, each device will follow the industry-standard gradual rollout mechanism—from limited gray-scale release to full deployment—to ensure stability. The dates listed indicate the start of the gray-scale phase, not the full public rollout. Actual update timing should follow the upgrade notes for each device.

The latest global version of HyperOS has significantly narrowed the performance and optimization gap with the China ROM, reaching near parity in everyday use. This means users no longer have practical reasons to manually flash the China ROM for smoother performance.

Historically, Xiaomi’s China ROM offered superior animation fluidity, memory management, and system responsiveness. This led some advanced overseas users to flash the China ROM and manually install Google Mobile Services (GMS) to gain smoother performance and earlier feature updates—a complex process that also risked compatibility issues, security concerns, and limited language support.

With HyperOS 3, Xiaomi has deeply optimized the global version. Technical analyses show that the global and China ROMs now share:

  • unified task scheduling strategies
  • identical background process management mechanisms
  • consistent animation rendering pipeline
  • the same kernel-level tuning, memory compression algorithms, and storage I/O optimizations

These improvements reduce frame drops, enhance battery life, and provide more stable thermal performance under heavy workloads.

In real-world use, differences in app launch speed, multitasking fluidity, and gaming performance have largely disappeared. Global users now benefit from: smarter CPU core scheduling, more efficient power management logic, and optimized touch-response calibration.

At the same time, the global version retains full Google service integration, regional app compatibility, and multilingual support, balancing security and productivity.
