Xiaomi’s first all-electric MPV, the YU7, has received top-tier “Level 1 Energy Efficiency” certification across all core metrics in China’s national EV efficiency evaluation.
On December 4, Xiaomi’s first pure electric multi-purpose passenger vehicle, the Xiaomi YU7, achieved Level 1 Energy Efficiency ratings—the highest tier—in four key dimensions: driving efficiency, air-conditioning efficiency, drivetrain efficiency, and charging/replenishment efficiency. The results come from the 2025 Battery Electric Passenger Vehicle Efficiency Assessment organized by the China Automotive Energy Efficiency Development, Testing and Certification Alliance (C-EDTC).
The evaluation strictly followed the C-EDTC-P1-BEV-A1-2024 “Energy Efficiency Grading and Evaluation Procedure for Battery Electric Passenger Vehicles”, covering vehicle energy consumption, thermal management efficiency, electric drive conversion efficiency, and charging performance. After review, C-EDTC confirmed that the Xiaomi YU7 completed all required test items and has been officially awarded China’s Automotive Energy Efficiency Label and Evaluation Certificate, making it one of the few domestic EV models to reach top-level benchmarks across all efficiency categories.

The C-EDTC Alliance, formed by vehicle manufacturers, key component suppliers, and national-level testing institutions, serves as an industry collaboration platform aimed at advancing high-efficiency technologies and providing consumers with transparent and scientific energy-efficiency references. Its grading system follows a “Level 1 = optimal, Level 3 = baseline” logic and has become an important benchmark for measuring the comprehensive efficiency of electric vehicles in China.

As China’s NEV market transitions from simple electrification to high-quality efficiency competition, energy performance is becoming an increasingly important factor for consumers when choosing an EV.
