XPeng Launches New Brand Design, New Logo to Be Unveiled on Friday

Nov 18, 2021, 21:50pm2021/11/19 09:25:18 Pandaily

Xpeng Motors held a brand upgrade conference with the slogan “HEY XPENG” on Thursday, and released its brand-new logo, concept and core values.

He Xiaopeng, CEO of Xpeng Motors, introduced the new logo, which is a slight change of the existing logo. The new logo appears to divide the old logo into two halves and now look like a pair of wings. He said that this “X” stands for the “X” in the word “explorer”, which means that Xpeng breaks through borders and dares to explore new science and technologies.

He also brought the company’s flagship product G9 which is slated to make its debut at the Guangzhou International Auto Show on Friday. The G9 will be the first model to be equipped with Xpeng‘s new logo.

Being positioned as a medium and large SUV, the new vehicle will be produced on the same platform as the P7. The vehicle will be equipped with a more advanced autonomous driving system and lidar while supporting the company’s XPILOT 4.0.

Xpeng Motors also announced that the accumulated mileage of NGP automatic navigation assisted driving has reached almost 12 million kilometers, while the number of accumulated memory routes of parking in the system has reached 20,731. According to previous delivery data, Xpeng delivered 10,138 units in October 2021, up 233% year-on-year. In the first 10 months of this year, Xpeng has delivered 66,542 units.

However, Xpeng still faces many challenges as it moves toward high-end products, to the point that many netizens think that the name of Xpeng is becoming tacky. In response, He Xiaopeng said that the company will not change its name. As Ford, Toyota, Tesla and other car companies have done so before, He believed that naming brands after someone’s names is a symbol of Xpeng‘s brand recognition and responsibility.
