XPeng Motors: Former Employees Fabricated False Information and Will Be Held Accountable

On December 2nd, XPeng Motors‘ legal department issued a statement saying that recently, we have noticed that some former XPeng employees are still conducting paid interviews with certain brokerage firms under the identity of XPeng employees and fabricating a large amount of false and incorrect information.

We solemnly declare: all public information of XPeng Motors is released through official channels. Any unauthorized interviews and information releases do not represent our company’s position. We will take legal action to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the company and investors.

At the same time, we also remind brokerage firms to verify the identities of interviewees and whether they have obtained authorization from companies for disclosing information before conducting interviews, in order to avoid being misled by false information or held legally responsible for infringing on a company’s trade secrets.

In fact, such incidents have occurred in other car companies as well, Li Auto has also issued similar notices.

In February of this year, Li Auto reported that two employees, Wang and Fang, without permission and despite having signed a confidentiality agreement and being aware of their confidentiality obligations, repeatedly accepted paid interviews from external brokerage institutions. This led to the leakage of company trade secrets and resulted in serious consequences.

After investigation by Li Auto, it was confirmed that the above two individuals seriously violated the requirements of the ‘Li Auto Confidentiality Management System’. In accordance with the ‘Li Auto Employee Handbook’, both employees involved had their labor contracts terminated and were penalized for recovering all improper gains as well as reclaiming vested and unvested stock options.
