Zeekr Provides Existing Users Free Upgrades to Qualcomm 8155 Smart Cockpit

Geely-backed intelligent electric vehicle brand Zeekr unveiled the Qualcomm Intelligent Cockpit 8155 computing platform on the evening of July 11. This upgraded product will be provided free of charge to existing users of the Zeekr 001 model. Meanwhile, the Zeekr 001 ME Edition was also released. Users can make pre-orders on the Zeekr app, and the new model starts from 349,000 yuan ($51,843).

Qualcomm 8155 Intelligent Cockpit Computing Platform

The smart platform unveiled this time adopts a 7nm octa-core process, which improves the CPU computing power by 177% and GPU computing power by 94%. It has a 16GB memory bandwidth and supports 128GB high-speed storage. After adopting the new intelligent cockpit, the vehicle system will work faster, with the vehicle wakeup time reduced to 2 seconds. The average opening time of in-car applications is only 1.3 seconds. At the same time, the brand also introduced Bluetooth keys, which will be standard for newly delivered vehicles, and existing car owners can also apply for them free of charge.

Zeekr said that for users whose cars have been delivered, the service upgrade appointment will be opened in the Zeekr app on August 1. This service will be upgraded according to the order of appointment and pre-orders. For all users who have made pre-orders and haven’t paid, their cars can be upgraded directly and free of charge. The service will be a modular replacement, or a complete intelligent cockpit domain controller.

Zeekr 001 ME Edition

The Zeekr 001 ME Edition has been created to simultaneously meet performance and endurance requirements. It adopts a 400kw permanent magnet powered by a twin-motor system, as well as a 100kWh battery pack. Its zero-to-one-hundred acceleration time is 3.8 seconds. The car has a cruising range (CLTC) of 616km, and will support intelligent anti-skid dTCS distributed traction control system.

The high-end version of this model includes a two-color interior/NAPPA leather stitching cover and an Alacntara stitching cover. It has intelligent massage seats, a smart temperature air conditioning set, and an advanced Yamaha surround sound system.

Zeekr Intelligent Drive System

The car brand has also released the Zeekr Intelligent Drive System. Its zero-to-one-hundred acceleration time of 3.8 seconds, and the cruising range (CLTC) is 650km with the smart system. With an intelligent anti-skid dTCS distributed traction control system, it takes only 6 milliseconds to realize response cycle from the wheel beginning to slip to control – 10 times faster than the TCS traction control system.

Zeekr said the new drive system will be updated synchronously through software and hardware, and that the Zeekr 001 YOU Edition will adopt the system first. Users will see the intelligent anti-skid dTCS distributed traction control system after an OTA upgrade.
