Zeekr’s EV Charging Stations Launched in 20 Chinese Cities

Geely-backed electric vehicle brand Zeekr announced that as of March 17, its self-built charging stations had been launched in 20 cities across China.

The automaker previously stated that in the first two months of this year, one “Zeekr center,” 12 showing spaces, four delivery centers and 38 self-built charging stations with 12,500 third-party charging piles were established. By the end of this year, there will be more than 300 stores nationwide, allowing the firm to reach more users.

According to Zeekr’s own data, due to various impacts including China’s recent Spring Festival holiday and tight supply chains, the delivery volume of the Zeekr 001 model reached 2,916 units in February, with a cumulative delivery volume of 12,453 units. Since February 12, Zeekr has pushed Zeekr OS version 1.1.1 to all existing users. This system upgrade involves 34 ECU units and adds 25 new functions. This is also the first major OTA upgrade since the delivery of Zeekr 001.

In addition, Zeekr has made progress in autonomous driving technology. The automaker’s parent company Geely announced in November last year that Zeekr will collaborate with Waymo for the development of a new pure electric vehicle for deployment in the Waymo One autonomous ride-hailing fleet in the United States. The new purpose-built mobility vehicle is being designed and developed at Zeekr’s R&D facility, CEVT (China Europe Vehicle Technology Centre) in Gothenburg, Sweden. Last December, Mobileye and Zeekr said they will introduce the world’s most highly advanced safety technology available in the market for advanced, intelligent vehicles.
