ZTE Launches Industry’s First Laptop-Based Cloud PC
Chinese telecoms equipment provider ZTE released on Monday the industry’s first laptop-based cloud computer, the W600D, at its annual Cloud Network Eco Summit 2022. The product features extreme portability, powerful performance, security and reliability, and a low carbon footprint.
The flexible scaling and on-demand allocation of resources in the “cloud” allows flexible adjustment of CPU, GPU, memory and disk specifications. As such, it meets the needs of R&D programming, video playback, 3D graphics rendering, online gaming and other applications. It can support up to 64 core CPUs and 256GB of memory, which is a theoretical performance advantage compared to traditional computers.
It can be used as a public terminal for enterprises, so that different employees can scan the code to log in their personal desks. Meanwhile, it can also be used as a public terminal for families, realizing the needs of different family members for online learning and entertainment.
W600D features a matte silver casing. It is 13.9mm thick, weighs 1.25kg net, and is equipped with a 14-inch display, a full-size keyboard and HD cam, among other features. The firm claims that the W600D has a super eight-hour battery life, supplemented by auto-sleep technology for all-day standby.
