Honor Releases First Laptop with OS Turbo
Chinese electronics manufacturer Honor officially launched its MagicBook 14 on Monday. The new laptop is equipped with a 12th-generation Intel Core standard voltage processor and is bundled with a RTX2050 graphics card. This is Honor’s first thin and light notebook adopting its OS Turbo.
The Honor MagicBook 14 is currently priced between 5499 yuan to 6499 yuan ($811 – 958). It has an all-metal body and is available in two color schemes: starry sky gray and glacier silver. The laptop features a 2.1K, 3:2 screen that supports 100% sRGB high color gamut display and has a screen ratio of 88%.
The MagicBook 14 has a customized, built-in Magic OS for the Windows system. With this OS mod, maximum power consumption can be reduced by as much as 28.3% in several application setups. In addition, the laptop supports the wireless transmission of 200GB files at most by one click from old computers, and should take about 40 minutes.
In terms of cross-device connection, the MagicBook 14 has such functions as screen-sharing and multi-screen, including extended connections between different devices such as PCs and tablets, or between PCs and smart screens.
The laptop weighs in at 1.54 kg and is about 15.9 mm thick. It is the world’s first 14-inch light laptop equipped with a 75Wh battery and supports 100W fast charging needing only 80 minutes to be fully charged.
In terms of heat radiation, the laptop is designed with double air inlets which helps increase air inlet areas by 31.7% and the overall air volume by 35%. According the company, the frame rate in game scenarios has been increased by up to 26.7%.
At the press conference, Honor CEO George Zhao introduced Honor PC’s new strategy. Zhao said that, going forward, Honor will upgrade and transform the existing architecture and system based on soft and hard collaboration with partners and further innovation.

According to Zhao, Honor has sold the Magic 4 Pro and mid-price range products in the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific region, Malaysia, some European countries, and Latin America. This year will be an important year for an overseas launch after which the company will be able to offer a comprehensive selection of its products in those countries and regions. However, Zhao also said that it took several years for Honor to regain its overseas market share and that its development must be led by flagship machine.
