Xiaomi and Redmi Products Departments Merged Into Smartphone Division
Beijing-based consumer electronics giant Xiaomi recently issued a document announcing organizational adjustment. The Xiaomi Products Department and Redmi Products Department have merged into the Smartphone Products Department, with Ling Xiaobing serving as the general manager, Sina Tech reported on Monday.
The Smartphone Products Department now consists of the Xiaomi Products Department, Redmi Products Department and Pad Products Department. Ling reports to William Lu, Senior Vice President of the Group, and Zeng Xuezhong, President of the firm’s Smartphones Department.
This adjustment is also due to the departure of Chang Cheng. In January this year, Xiaomi issued an internal document announcing that Chang Cheng, former VP of the group and GM of Xiaomi‘s Smartphone Products Department, had left the post. After Chang’s departure, Zeng Xuezhong took on another role as GM of the Xiaomi Smartphone Products Department.
