Lei Jun Withdraws From Xiaomi Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd.
According to Tianyancha App, Xiaomi Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. has changed its legal representative from Lei Jun to Zeng Xuezhong on Monday. At the same time, Lei Jun withdrew from the position of executive director and general manager.
Xiaomi Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., which is 100% controlled by Xiaomi Group, was established in September 2017 with a registered capital of RMB 210 million ($33 million). Its business scope includes data processing and storage services, real estate development and management, among other services.
On July 29, 2020, Xiaomi announced Zeng Xuezhong as Vice President of Xiaomi and President of the Smartphone Department of Xiaomi. He was responsible for the R&D and production of smartphone products and reported directly to Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group. Xiaomi said that Zeng Xuezhong will continue to serve as the Chairman of Hatchip, a strategic partner of Xiaomi.
As for Lei Jun himself, he is still the Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, and also the Chairman of Jinshan, YY and Cheetah Mobile. Since the announcement of the company’s entrance into the automobile industry this year, Lei Jun has withdrawn from several Xiaomi-affiliated companies, including Chengdu Beida Asset Management Co., Ltd., Xiaomi Credit Management Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Xiaomi Financial Information Service Co., Ltd.
