TikTok Inks Cooperation With Atmosphere to Broadcast Short Videos on Large Public Screens
According to TechCrunch on Wednesday, TikTok, the popular short video platform owned by Chinese tech giant ByteDance, has reached a cooperation with Atmosphere to broadcast short videos on large screens in airports, hotels and restaurants.
Atmosphere already offers licensed and curated streamed video content for commercial venues like Westin, Taco Bell and Texas Roadhouse. Now, the partnership will see Atmosphere develop a new channel on its platform dedicated to curated TikTok videos.
For videos from YouTube or TikTok, Atmosphere will strip out all the audio, overlay it with its own optional audio (or none at all – many of the venues that are Atmosphere customers use the service on mute by default), add its own captions, and collate all that into its own video stream.
Regarding compensation for short video creators, the report says Atmosphere will connect with individual creators for approval to use their videos, and to work out remuneration.
