Amap Officially Launches the First English Map Targeting Overseas Users in China
On January 22, Amap officially announced that the first English map for overseas users in China has been launched.
Currently, the Amap downloaded from Google Play and App Store still defaults to Chinese mode. However, the language setting function is available in the iOS version of Amap app. The button for switching to English is currently grayed out, and clicking on it will display ‘System not supported at this time’.
It is worth mentioning that Amap has officially addressed the issue of why users still cannot use the (English map): ‘Currently, we are providing an English map beta version, which is temporarily only available for overseas users coming to China.’
