BYD and Levo Partner for 5,000 Battery Electric Vehicles in Five Years
Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer BYD has announced a cooperation plan with Levo Mobility on its official website, which will integrate Nuvve Holding’s leading vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology with BYD’s battery electric vehicles (BEV), and plans to jointly deploy up to 5,000 BEVs throughout the next five years.
The cooperation outline shows that Levo Mobility plans to purchase 5,000 of BYD’s medium- and heavy-duty V2G-enabled BEVs over five years, including transit buses and coaches, yard tractors, drayage and refuse trucks, last mile delivery vehicles and school buses.
“The cooperation between BYD and Levo Mobility has the potential to accelerate and transform the transportation sector at a critical moment. This innovative partnership leverages state-of-the-art technologies owned by BYD and Nuvve and will provide access to Stonepeak’s financing, which will reduce the cost of using medium- and heavy-duty BEVs for all types of fleets including public transportation, municipalities, school districts and so on.”
Up to now, BYD’s pure electric buses and taxis have been exported to six continents, including more than 50 countries and regions and over 300 cities. Among them, BYD has delivered more than 65,000 pure electric buses worldwide.

Not only in the sector of commercial vehicles, BYD’s passenger cars started to enter overseas markets in the middle of this year, such as the first batch of 1,000 BYD Tang EVs, which have now entered the Norwegian market. In the future, the company will rely on its experience in the Norwegian market to further develop its overseas market expansion strategy.
According to public data, Levo Mobility is a joint venture company that realizes “one-stop service for motorization of fleet,” intelligently integrates EVs into power grids and improves the penetration rate of clean energy. According to Chinese media outlet IThome, Levo Mobility is a joint venture of Nuvve Holdings, a subsidiary of Stonepeak Partners LP and Evolve Transition infrastructure LP, which mainly provides fleet service solutions to help customers switch to EVs.
