A former Bilibili executive's AI companion startup, "Infinite Valley," has reached a near $70 million valuation through pre-launch funding from top-tier investors.

As debate and enthusiasm continue to swirl around AI companion applications, a seasoned entrepreneur has entered the market with a new product. Cai Mao, former head of Bilibili’s gaming business and co-founder of Maoer FM, left her position in June to launch an AI companion app called Infinite Valley.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the company has already completed angel and Pre-A funding rounds totaling tens of millions of U.S. dollars, co-led by ZhenFund and IDG Capital, despite the product not yet being officially launched. The company’s valuation is now approaching $70 million.

Cai is no newcomer to the space. Maoer FM, which she co-founded, was later acquired by Bilibili, and the team brings extensive experience in operating virtual idols and building content-driven ecosystems. Infinite Valley currently has a team of around 50 employees, with core members drawn from the original Maoer FM team and the 3D development team behind GuJian 3. The product opened a limited iOS beta on December 10. Unlike most AI chatbots on the market, Infinite Valley centers on a white-haired virtual male character named “Lu.” The app emphasizes proactive, data-driven companionship, offering features such as schedule management and habit formation, rather than purely reactive conversation.

Cai has described the long-term vision as building a “Super App that makes life better,” with Infinite Valley eventually evolving into an IP-based platform integrating multiple virtual characters.

Early beta data suggests strong initial traction. The app has recorded next-day retention above 80%, an average of 160 conversation turns per user on day one, and over 60 minutes of average daily usage—early indicators that its “data-driven deep companionship” model is resonating with users.
