Honor V30 to Feature Huawei Mobile Services Pre-installed
According to Phoenix Technology, Honor will release their V30 series smartphones in Europe next week, pre-installed with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). This is the first device to come equipped with HMS. Huawei prioritized the development of their own independent mobile service ecosystem after the 2019 blacklisting from the US government threatened to restrict access to Google Mobile Services.

The Shenzhen-based telecom giant also recently signed a deal with Turkish telecom to offer HMS to Turkish customers, making the first step towards overseas expansion for HMS. Huawei are estimated to sell 1 million smartphones with HMS in Turkey in 2020.
Honor was originally planning the announcement for MWC 2020 in Barcelona, but the event was cancelled due to concerns around the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Honor V30 series includes the V30 and V30 Pro, the phones saw huge success domestically during the Valentine’s Day Shopping Festival in China, with sales increasing by 268% during the event which spanned from February 10 to February 14. The V30 is also the first 5G capable device released by the brand, featuring a Huawei Kirin 990 processor.
