On April 6th, Honda China announced that the cumulative sales of Honda's terminal cars in China in March 2023 were 82,041 units, a year-on-year decrease of 18.8%.
Japanese automotive giant Honda Motor announced on December 8 that it will purchase about 123GWh in vehicle batteries from China's CATL from 2024 to 2030. These products will be produced centrally at CATL's Yichun Factory.
Honda's China division announced on September 7 that it had signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with Chinese battery giant CATL. Honda also will jointly establish a new venture in China at the end of September.
On August 23, the China Association of Automotive Manufacturers (CAAM) announced the top 10 sales list of SUV brands in the domestic market during July, among which BYD's Song DM model sold over 30,000 units, reaching the top of the list.
At a press conference held on Wednesday, Honda China stated that it planned to introduce 10 Honda-brand EV models in the next five years, and that all new models launched in China after 2030 will be electric.
Honda is working with Alibaba to develop services for Internet-connected cars. More and more carmakers are starting to work with Chinese Internet giants to further deepen China’s car market, which is the largest in the world.
