Taiwanese Superstar Jay Chou Launches First Chinese Social Media Account on Kuaishou

Jay Chou launched his first official account on a Chinese social media platform, Kuaishou, and his decision surprised netizens.

On May 29, the official WeChat account "Jay Chou Information Station”posted an article drawing users’ attention to the fact that the Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou had launched an account on Kuaishou, which also became his first official account on a Chinese social media platform.

The account "Classmate Zhou" has already received official certification from Kuaishou, although there has not been any activity on it as of press time. However, a person familiar with the matter said that Jay Chou and Kuaishou will have some cooperation early next month.

According to the 36Kr refresh test, the account continues to add fans at a rate of 100 fans per second and has so far surpassed 60,000 followers as of the writing of this article.

Netizens expressed their surprise at Jay Chou's choice of a social media platform that is known to mostly cater to China’s second-tier and rural internet users. However, Jay Chou had previously cooperated with the short-video app with his online show “Zhou You Ji" that ran on Kuaishou.
