Top Livestream Salesman Li Jiaqi Records $1.7 Billion in Sales in First 11.11 Livestream, Viya Follows

Taobao’s anchor sales list showed that the final sales of Chinese livestream salesman Li Jiaqi on the first live-streaming event of this year’s 11.11 Shopping Festival reached 10.653 billion yuan ($1.7 billion), followed by two other female anchors, Viya and Xueli, totaling 8.252 billion yuan and 930 million yuan respectively.

According to data provided by Taobao, on Wednesday evening, a total of 439 products were put on shelves in Li Jiaqi’s live-streaming studio, with an estimated sales volume of 36.158 million, making him the top salesman in the field.

This year, the pre-sale time of the 11.11 Shopping Festival was set at 8:00 p.m. which is prime time for most consumers to watch live-streaming and place orders. The live-streaming studios of Li Jiaqi and Viya began broadcasting on Wednesday afternoon. As of 11:00 p.m. last night, the number of viewers in their studios exceeded 200 million, and their half-day live-streaming sales even exceeded the annual turnover of most listed companies.

From 4 pm to 8 pm, Viya introduced 341 products in 4 hours, with an average of 42 seconds, while Li Jiaqi introduced 252 products in 4 hours, with an average of 42 seconds for each product.

Since the explosion of live-streaming e-commerce around 2018, Li Jiaqi and Viya have become the best two salesmen in China. Discussion about who is the best can become heated.

During the 618 Shopping Gala this year, Viya reached the top spot due to excellent sales volume, followed by Xueli and Li Jiaqi, leading some to doubt Li Jiaqi’s status.
