Automotive Joint Venture SGMW Releases Lingxi Intelligent Driving System

On August 10, automotive industry joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) released the Lingxi Intelligent Driving System, which has deep integration with Chinese drone developer DJI’s automotive system. The intelligent system will be applied on the 2023 KiWi EV, a new vehicle expected to be launched in August.

According to an actual survey conducted by SGMW on hundreds of users, there are currently more than 20 functions based on Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), but their actual utilization rate is less than 10%. Therefore, SGMW put forward the intelligent development vision of “reshaping the future of mobility.”

The Lingxi Intelligent Driving System pioneered the concept of “emotional engine,” which gives priority to urban travel scenarios with the highest frequency. It also takes the lead in solving the needs of users in parking and urban driving scenarios.

The system is integrated with DJI’s in-vehicle system and its in-vehicle stereo binocular camera technology. DJI’s self-developed stereo binocular camera has core technologies such as stereo visual perception imaging, online self-calibration technology, real-time online modeling of road conditions, and more. This provides the Lingxi Intelligent Driving System with stereo and accurate sensing ability.

At the same time, relying on DJI’s auto-grade domain controller, intention prediction and multi-modal decision-making regulation and control technology, Lingxi Intelligent Driving System has the ability of software and hardware collaborative optimization and peripheral expansion and integration. Additionally, it has the advantages of user intention prediction on complex road conditions, self-learning of various driving styles and full coverage of urban road conditions in China.

The 2023 KiWi EV, equipped with the Lingxi Intelligent Driving System, has completed more than 1 million kilometers of successful road tests and tens of thousands of intelligent parking tests in a well-established open road testing system. In addition, the vehicle’s power has been upgraded to 50kW, with a range of 305 km under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) conditions, and supports fast charging, filling from 30% to 80% in one hour.
