BYD’s 2022 Song MAX DM-i to Be Launched Early Next Year

Chinese automaker BYD has officially announced the 2022 Song MAX DM-i model on Thursday, which reportedly will be officially launched in the first quarter of 2022.

According to the information provided, the biggest change in this new model is that it is equipped with BYD’s DM-i plug-in hybrid system, and it will be available in six-seat and seven-seat models. In addition, the new car also brings a brand-new “upgrade top” model, with an obvious protruding design above the roof, up to 1880mm, thus creating a more spacious interior.

In terms of power, according to the previous declaration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People’s Republic of China, the new car is equipped with a special 1.5L high-efficiency engine for Xiaoyun-plug hybrid, an EHS electric hybrid system and a special blade battery for DM-i super hybrid, in which the maximum power of the 1.5L engine is 81kW and the maximum power of the permanent magnet synchronous motor is 145kW. Also, according to the MIIT, the comprehensive fuel consumption is 0.9L/100km.

With the arrival of the 2022 Song MAX DM-i, BYD’s DM-i models now cover cars, SUVs and MPVs to meet the needs of more users.
