CEO Ren Zhengfei at Huawei Legions Inaugural Meeting: Peace Brought by Winning Battles

Chinese telecommunications and electronics giant Huawei uploaded a video on its internal employee community platform on Wednesday night, showing the ‘Huawei Legions’ inaugural meeting that took place at the Dongguan Songshan Lake Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone on October 29, 2021.

Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei and other company leaders enhanced the morale of more than 300 elites belonging to the Coal Mine Legion, Smart Highway Legion, Customs and Port Legion, Smart Photovoltaic Legion and Data Center Energy Legion. After the groups were assembled, they received the flag from company leaders, ready for their tasks.

In this critical period of Huawei’s development, these legions will shoulder the heavy responsibility of breaking through the challenges.

Ren Zhengfei said in the speech at the event: “I think peace is brought by winning battles. We should work hard and devote ourselves to creating a peaceful environment over the next 30 years, so that no one will dare to bully us again. We strive for ourselves and our country – history will remember our achievements.”

Ren once mentioned that this legion model came from Google, which brought together basic research scientists, technical experts, product experts, engineering experts, sales experts, delivery and service experts in one department to granulate business and shorten the cycle of product progress.

It is reported that in March this year, Huawei established its Coal Mine Legion for the first time, then copied the legion model into four fields for digitalization. Huawei announced on October 11 its decision to formally establish a Customs and Port Legion, Smart Highway Legion, Data Center Energy Legion and Smart Photovoltaic Legion.
