On Wednesday, 36Kr reported that LeSheng Smart, a company engaged in the business of smart robot cleaners, recently completed a round of A+ financing worth 200 million yuan ($31.4 million). The exclusive leading investor was Fortune Capital and the funds are marked for use in constructing a headquarters as well as several research and production bases.
LeSheng Smart was established in Dongguan, Guangdong Province in 2017 and employed just over 200 staff. The company serves dozens of customers, including Haier, Conga (Spanish brand), Roidmi, Yunmi and other leading brand customers. Half of the company’s orders are derived from Chinese clients while the rest are from overseas clients.
In the past two years, LeSheng Smart’s shipments have increased by about 20% and it is expected to reach 2.5 million this year. The company now has three factories with a total area of more than 60,000 m² and about 1,500 employees.
Its product line includes intelligent sweeping robots, hand-held vacuum cleaners, floor cleaners, intelligent tower fans, intelligent pet products, air purifiers and so on.
The company is distinguished for its research and development skills, including being the first company to introduce laser and integrated path planning schemes as well as obstacle avoidance algorithms. Further, the company made a core breakthrough in automatic dust collection technology. Chen Jinyi, chairman of the board of directors, said that the company is currently studying the application of a millimeter wave radar system. Such radar systems perform better in positioning and are more accurate in detecting human movement than a single-line rotating lidar.
Relying on independent R&D, LeSheng Smart provides users with a complete set of software and hardware solutions, thus effectively reducing difficulties for customers to enter the robotic cleaning market. Customers need only enter in the product ID number and the products can be delivered within 45 days.
