DJI Releases Power 1000 & Power 500: High-Capacity, Ultra-Quiet Outdoor Power Sources

On December 8, 2023, DJI officially released the DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 500 portable outdoor power sources.

The DJI Power 1000 has a battery capacity of 1024 watt-hours, with a maximum output power of 2200 watts, capable of stably powering 99% of commonly used devices. It can charge a mobile phone about 57 times and a drone about 12 times. The Power 500, which is designed for portability, has a battery capacity of 512 watt-hours and a maximum output power of 1000 watts. Both power sources can be fully charged in 70 minutes, operate ultra-quietly, and quickly power DJI drones.

DJI Power 1000 is equipped with nine ports, including two 140-watt USB-C outputs. Combined, these outputs provide a total power of 280 watts, a 40% increase compared to the standard dual 100W USB-C ports found in similar products. The device supports PD 3.1 140-watt charging specifications, making it capable of efficiently charging a 16-inch MacBook Pro.

DJI Power 1000 uses lithium iron phosphate battery cells, allowing for up to 3,000 charge cycles. This means, even with frequent use, the device is expected to last for about 10 years. The Power 1000 also incorporates a BMS intelligent battery management system, which automatically activates a protective mechanism if power usage exceeds safety limits. The device resumes operation only after the power environment returns to normal.

DJI’s Power 1000 offers three charging options: mains power, solar power, and car charging. In fast-charging mode, the device can reach 80% power in 50 minutes, and a full charge from zero in 70 minutes. The device can be connected to solar panels through the DJI Power solar panel adapter module (MPPT) or DJI Power car charger plug to SDC charging cable. Users also have the option of charging the Power 1000 through a car’s cigarette lighter interface. These features make the DJI Power 1000 a versatile and efficient choice for portable power solutions.

The DJI Power 500 has a net weight of just 7.3kg, a battery capacity of 512 watt-hours, and a maximum output power of 1000 watts. It can charge a mobile phone approximately 28 times, a digital camera about 28 times, and a drone around 6 times.

Like the DJI Power 1000, the DJI Power 500 also offers mains power, solar power, and car charging options. In a mains power environment, the fast-charging mode can charge the device to 80% in just 50 minutes, and it takes only 70 minutes to fully charge from zero. Additionally, the DJI Power 500 can be charged through two 100-watt USB-C ports on the device, reaching a total power of 200 watts and taking about 3 hours to fully charge.

The DJI Power 500 also has the advantage of ultra-quiet operation. When the power source is charging, the volume is as low as 25 decibels, quieter than most household refrigerators.

For safety, the DJI Power 500 is equipped with a BMS intelligent battery management system, lithium iron phosphate battery cells, comprehensive temperature sensors, and power-off protection, providing all-around safety.

Both products are currently available in mainland China. The DJI Power 1000 is priced at 3499 yuan, and the DJI Power 500 is priced at 2099 yuan.
