JD.com Announces Significant Salary Increase, Frontline Employees’ Remuneration to Double Next Year

On December 27th, JD.com, Inc. announced through its WeChat official account that starting from January 1st, 2024, the annual fixed salary for front-line employees in JD.com‘s procurement and sales departments will increase by nearly 100%. In early 2024, all JD.com retail staff members will receive an average salary raise of no less than 20%.

The last official announcement of a large-scale salary increase on JD.com was two years ago. On July 13, 2021, JD.com announced that from July 1, 2021 to July 1, 2023, over a period of two years, the average annual salary for employees will gradually increase from 14 months’ pay to 16 months’ pay. Additionally, there will be a direct salary increase for two months starting from the month of the announcement.

As the key targets for salary increases next year, JD.com‘s procurement and sales personnel are the most crucial frontline positions in its retail e-commerce business. The daily work of these personnel can be divided into two parts: procurement and sales. Procurement involves contacting suppliers through market channels to purchase products from various categories. Sales involve listing products on the JD.com platform for selling, while also undertaking some operational tasks.
