Lei Jun: Xiaomi Shipments Exceed 10M in October

Last night, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced in Weibo Xiaomi‘s shipment volume exceeded 10 million units this month, setting another milestone after September’s 10-million unit shipment.

Xiaomi sold more than 20 million mobile handsets during Q2, suggesting the company has recovered from its sharp decline in 2015. Xiaomi announced a new 2017 sales target of 90 million handsets at the Xiaomi Supplier Conference, up from the previous 70 million.

The company’s shipments exceeded 10 million units in September and October, implying that its sales were growing steadily. The company is expected to have a sales peak in November due to the Double 11 sales event: shipments may also exceed 10 million units. After solving its problems with production capacity and connecting with offline sales, Xiaomi appears to be on a prosperous path.

In addition, Lei’s promotional roadmap shows a red version of Mi 5X phone will be launched on November 1 for 1,499 yuan. Kris Wu will represent the company as its new spokesperson. Xiaomi said it expects the new product and spokesperson will allow it to continue its current momentum.
