NetEase’s Youdao Releases Six Quality Education Products

Youdao, founded in 2006 as part of NetEase, Inc., on Thursday held a press conference themed “Creating the Future of Quality Education” to unveil six new quality education products. The new offerings, which have been cultivated for many years, cover such fields as programming for children, the game of Go, science, art and robotics.

The products include Youdao Kada, which aims to popularize children’s programming, Youdao Xiaotuling for informatics training, Youdao Zongheng focusing on children’s Go skills, Youdao Drosophila Science to cultivate children’s creativity, Youdao Children’s Art for children’s creative expression and NetEase‘s first children education robot, the Space Explorer.

In addition, Youdao launched a new course platform to provide teaching solutions for offline institutions: Youdao Youke. Over the past year, the platform has reached cooperation with 272 offline institutions and schools.

“Today, a large number of offline institutions are facing the dilemma of transforming discipline education into quality education. Youdao has been exploring quality education for five years. We hope to use our experience to help them,”said Jin Lei, Senior Vice President of Youdao.

One of the requirements of the recently-introduced “double reduction” national policy is that “schools should formulate plans to enhance the attractiveness of after-school services, such as popular science, culture, sports, art, reading and community activities.”

Youdao has launched a variety of quality education products that are deeply loved by consumers since 2016. Youdao Xiaotuling, for instance, has been introduced by many primary and secondary schools across Beijing.

Youdao Zongheng, which was launched in 2020, integrated Chinese and mathematical thinking in Go teaching. Youdao’s financial report from last year shows that the contract extension rate of the course in the fourth quarter was over 70%.

Youdao Drosophila Science, launched in 2014, is another eye-catching product unveiled at the Thursday conference. Its research team comes from the K12 STEAM Education Drosophila Academy of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The curriculum covers four major sections: material science, earth and universe studies, engineering technology and biological science.
