OnePlus said it will launch its new midrange smartphone Nord with an AR event on July 21.
Claimed to be the world’s first AR smartphone, OnePlus offers an opportunity to watch the launch event in augmented reality on its app at 3 p.m. BST on July 21. Physical invitations are also available by scanning a QR code to access the AR experience.
OnePlus said the new phone will come with a Snapdragon 765G 5G processor, a “flagship level” camera and cost less than $500.
OnePlus Nord will be first introduced in Europe and India, the company said.
The company has kept quiet about further details of the new device and is limiting the amount of pre-orders. The first round of pre-orders sold out on July 1. The second round starts on July 8 and the third one on July 15.
OnePlus said those who pre-ordered will receive a non-refundable £20 voucher to complete the purchase as well as a “special gift” and some merchandise once the new device is officially launched.
