Standard Version of Xiaomi 12 to Enter Production This Month, Equipped With Snapdragon 898, Sources Say
Technology tipster ‘@DigitalChatStation‘ posted on social media on Wednesday: “Xiaomi 12 Series Standard Edition L2 will be produced this month, and the high-quality L1A and L1 production will start later as usual.” According to this leak, the Xiaomi 12 series is expected to be officially released in December at the earliest, with the standard version being released first, followed by the Pro and Ultra versions at a later time.
Media outlet Mydrivers reported that the Xiaomi 12 Series will adopt Qualcomm’s new generation 8 Series flagship processor, rumored to be called Snapdragon 898, echoing last year’s Snapdragon 888.
In terms of the processor, the Snapdragon 898 adopts Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process and octa-core CPU architecture. It features one Cortex X2 core clocked at 3.0 GHz, while the GPU is integrated with the Adreno 730. For other features, the Xiaomi 12 will also be equipped with high-power fast charging, a LTPO high refresh-rate screen, and flagship image quality and among other high-end features.
For the smartphone’s appearance, as can be told from leaked images, the front of the Xiaomi 12 will adopt a centered hyperboloid screen with a notch.
