Tencent-backed Free Healthcare Platform WeDoctor Offers Bilingual Real-time COVID-19 Medical Consultations

Tencent-backed WeDoctor, one of China’s biggest online healthcare platforms, is now offering real-time free COVID-19 consultations, providing both English and Chinese medical services to global users.

The new WeDoctor Global Consultation and Prevention Center (WeDoctor GCPC), which is launched by the Hangzhou-based company WeDoctor and partnered with In Zhejiang English website, brings together medical resources from over 7,000 Chinese physicians and offers 24/7 real-time online medical services to users around the world. This platform is also supported by China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare and the China Famous Alliance.

The platform has extensively recruited doctors from various medical departments among the country’s top public hospitals. Most of the volunteer doctors have participated in China’s anti-COVID-19 battle, as shown on their profile pages.

The platform provides 24/7 free online consultations, free psychological assistance, epidemic prevention tips and online consultations for traditional Chinese medicine. Users can also track the global spread of COVID-19, monitoring confirmed cases and increase rate in each country. Users can use an email address or mobile phone number to sign up for the online consultation services.

As of March 23, a total of 7,161 doctors have been providing medical consultations on WeDoctor GCPC, while 46,818 registered users around the world have been consulted.
