Xiaomi to Launch Redmi 5 and 5 Plus in India for V-Day

Xiaomi surpassed Samsung as the largest smartphone brand in India in January and announced a product release conference in New Delhi on February 14.

Industry watchers said the company is likely to release its Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in India, and possibly the Redmi Note 5.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5 series at the end of 2017, which offers attractive performance for its price point.

The Redmi 5 has 5.7-inch screen and a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 450 processor, which is the inferior version of the Snapdragon 625, and a built-in 3300mAh battery.

The Red Mi 5 Plus has 5.99-inch screen and a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 625 processor and a built-in 4000mAh battery. Both handsets have a 12-megapixel (1.25μm) rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera.

As these devices target the Indian market, Xiaomi may change the configurations. More information will be unveiled next week.
